Terms of Service

These terms cover the use of this website and the work carried out by One Way Garage Doors LLC, trading as Garage Door Repair Near Me in Los Angeles. They are set out in plain language on purpose. Booking a job means these terms apply to it.

What This Website Is

It is a description of the work we do and roughly what it costs. Prices published here are starting figures for straightforward work and are not an offer capable of being accepted by reading them. A price becomes binding when a dispatcher gives you a figure for your particular door and you agree to it.

Quotes, Diagnostics and Prices

The $29 diagnostic covers a technician attending and establishing what is actually wrong. It comes off the total once you approve the work. If you decide not to go ahead, the diagnostic is what you pay and nothing further is added.

The figure agreed on the telephone is the figure you pay, provided the door turns out to be what was described. Where it is not, and a spring job proves to be a spring job plus a bent track, the technician stops, explains what has changed and gives you a revised figure before continuing. Work is never carried out beyond what you have agreed to.

Coupons

Coupons published on this site apply to the service named on them, one coupon per job, and cannot be combined with each other or with any other offer. Tell the dispatcher you have one when you book, since applying it afterwards to an invoice already raised is considerably harder. They carry no cash value, are not transferable, and we may withdraw or change them at any time, which does not affect a coupon already applied to a booked job.

Booking, Arrival Windows and Cancelling

An arrival window is our honest estimate rather than a guarantee. Traffic in this city does what it does, and an emergency ahead of you may overrun. Where we are going to be late, you will be telephoned rather than left watching the street.

Cancel or move a booking by ringing the number on this site, and there is no charge for doing so before a technician has set out. Where a van has already arrived and the job is then cancelled, the diagnostic is payable.

Access and Proof of Ownership

Somebody over eighteen who is entitled to authorise the work needs to be present, and we may ask for identification and something connecting you to the property before opening or securing anything. This occasionally irritates people who own the door in question, and we ask anyway, because the alternative is a trade that will open anybody's garage for cash.

We also need reasonable access to the door. Where a vehicle, stored goods or a locked gate prevent the work and cannot be moved, the visit may have to be rebooked and the diagnostic is payable.

Warranty

Parts we supply are warranted for twelve months and our labour for ninety days, both stated on your receipt. Inside that period, a failure of the part we fitted or the work we did is put right at no cost, including the visit.

It does not cover a different fault that happens to appear on the same door, damage caused by impact, storm, forced entry or misuse, work altered or attempted by somebody else afterwards, or parts you supplied yourself. Fitting a customer's own part carries a labour warranty only, for the obvious reason that we cannot stand behind a component we did not choose.

Safety, and What We Will Not Do

Garage door springs and cables store enough energy to cause serious injury, and nothing on this website should be read as encouragement to work on them yourself. The descriptions here explain what we do; they are not instructions.

Our technicians will not defeat a safety sensor, leave a door running without a working reversing mechanism, or fit hardware they judge unsafe for a particular door, whatever the customer would prefer. Where we consider a door genuinely dangerous to operate, we will say so, secure it if we can, and decline to hand it back in service.

Liability

We carry insurance and we stand behind our work. Where we damage your property through our own negligence, that is ours to put right.

What we cannot accept responsibility for is loss that follows on from a fault or a delay rather than from the work itself, such as missed appointments, lost trading hours or a vehicle you could not get to. Except where the law does not permit it to be limited, our liability for any one job is capped at what you paid for that job. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Which Law Applies

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, and any dispute arising from them belongs in the state or federal courts serving Los Angeles County. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Changes

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will move when they are. The version in force for your job is the one published when you booked it.

Reaching Us

Anything arising from these terms goes to the same desk as everything else. Ring the number at the top of the page, or write to the dispatch office, whichever suits you.
